The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a supportive team to deliver of accurate, compliant payroll across a multi-state workforce.

This position is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end payroll processes. You will play a key role in ensuring legislative compliance, supporting employees with clear payroll advice, and driving process improvements that add real value to the business.

About the Position: 

Reporting to the Payroll Manager in a newly created role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Payroll & HR functions.
  
Key duties:
  • End-to-end payroll processing across multiple states and pay cycles.
  • Interpret multiple Awards/EBA's. 
  • Act as a key point of contact for all payroll related queries. 
  • Managing PAYG, superannuation, child support, and statutory obligations.
  • Processing complex transactions including redundancies, back pays, and overpayments.
  • Assist with month-end, and year-end reporting. 
  • Ensure legislative changes to awards and statutory compliance updates are implemented.
  • Provide assistance in preparing policy & contract documentation (e.g. employee contracts, pay increases, probation advice & variations).   
  • Assist with process and system enhancements projects.
 
About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
  • Proven experience interpreting multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong Excel capability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Passion for working as part of cohesive team.
