Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll operations while contributing to system improvements and automation projects. In this role, you will:
- Process fortnightly payroll, including wages, superannuation and leave, while leveraging payroll systems to streamline operations and ensure accuracy.
- Onboard new staff and manage termination payments, ensuring all system records are correctly set up and maintained.
- Interpret and provide guidance on EAs, EBAs and relevant payroll legislation.
- Assist with preparation, analysis and reconciliation of fortnightly, monthly and EOFY payroll reports.
- Participate in payroll system projects, including Workday and other system implementations, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review payroll data, investigate discrepancies and provide recommendations for process or system enhancements.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in high-volume payroll who is systems-savvy and eager to further develop their expertise in payroll systems and process improvements. You enjoy working in a dynamic environment, solving problems and contributing to both day-to-day payroll operations and system enhancement projects.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven end-to-end payroll expertise, preferably in the not-for-profit or community sector, managing high-volume and complex payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of Modern Awards and payroll legislation.
- Experience with Workday is highly regarded.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to confidently liaise with staff at all levels.
- Adaptability and resilience, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
