The Role: 
They are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Financial Controller to their well-established finance team.  This is a key financial role that will see you supporting financial operations with the preparation of financial/project/statutory accounting and taxation. You will be tasked with supporting the effective, efficient control of the company's finances.

They are about to embark on a company wide project to enhance their financial IT systems - moving to a new CRM - so any financial systems implementation experience would be beneficial.
  
When fully immersed in the role, as 2IC to the CFO, accountabilities will include:  
  • Financial reporting and consolidation for a multi-entity environment.
  • Leading and mentoring a small, high-performing Finance Team.
  • Engage and business partner with key stakeholders.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
  • Balance Sheet and P&L analysis.
  • End of month reporting.
  • Cash Flow Management & Bank Reconciliations.
  • Fixed asset and capital work in progress management.
  • Job Costing and Project Reporting.
  • Preparation of monthly Finance summary for Senior Management.
  • BAS, FBT & review Payroll Tax.
  • Review of Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
  • Assist the Finance team with process improvements, ad-hoc projects and systems implementations.

About You:

To be considered for this position you will be a well-rounded senior finance professional with current team management experience.  We are looking for a motivated and results orientated leader, with a commercial accounting background.  Ideally you should:  
  • Be CA/CPA qualified.
  • Bring a commercial mindset with experience in overseeing a small finance team.
  • Be a hands-on leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting practices, regulatory issues and tax legislations.
  • Adaptable with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet Finance deadlines.
  • Property or Construction industry experience would be highly advantageous.
