The Company:

This renowned construction pioneer builds and manages a wide variety of exceptional commercial shopping centres across Australia. 
  
The Role:
Based in one of Queensland’s most important regional industrial and agricultural heartlands, this key rural shopping centre contains a variety of retailers and is a big part of the local community.
  
Reporting to the General Manager (based in Brisbane), this role skilfully oversees the operational performance of the shopping centre.  You will be responsible for overall management, operations and performance of the shopping centre (including tenant relations, budgeting and marketing).
  
With circa 50 retail stores under management (anchored by Woolworths and Big W) and leading a small team, your primary responsibilities include:
  • Day-to-day operations and performance of the shopping centre.
  • Managing the shopping centre budgets and forecasts.
  • Building and maintaining strong Tenant and Stakeholder relationships, handling lease negotiations, renewals, and tenant onboarding.
  • Marketing and Promotions – developing marketing strategies, coordinating events and community engagement.
  • Leading a small team, fostering a positive team culture and ensuring high standards, while providing training and development opportunities.

Ideal Candidate:
This position requires a strong Centre, Property or Retail management background (could be shopping centres, childcare centres, retail hubs etc) - coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills and proven experience leading small teams. The following skills or experience would assist you in this role:
  
  • Knowledge of Retail Shop Leases Act.
  • Ability to prioritise work requirements and effectively manage time.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate in a close team environment.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder manager skills.
  • Passion for people and property management.
  
  
As an experienced Centre Manager, you will understand this is a full-time on-site position, Monday to Friday, with infrequent weekend or after-hours work in case of emergencies.
