The Senior Payroll Officer will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees, working in close collaboration with the Payroll Manager. In addition to resolving payroll-related issues efficiently, the Senior Payroll Officer will provide guidance and support to junior team members. This position will be responsible for managing the full end-to-end payroll process, ensuring strict compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
Key Duties include:
- Support the processing of global payroll, including end-of-month and end-of-financial-year activities as required.
- Collaborate with the team on payroll processing, reviews, and pay runs, ensuring accurate reporting.
- Manage escalated payroll queries from employees and key stakeholders, providing clear and timely resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory payroll requirements in each jurisdiction.
- Assist with statutory reporting, including Single Touch Payroll and other regulatory submissions.
- Support system testing and upgrades related to payroll, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve processes.
To be considered for this position you will have a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the capability to handle complex payroll calculations and reconciliations.
The ideal background/skillset required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in end to end payroll delivery for 1000+ employees.
- In-depth knowledge of Modern Award compliance, including pay rates, allowances, and deductions.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and supervising junior team members.
- A strong communicator with robust stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to achieving positive outcomes.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
