What you will be responsible for:
Reporting directly to the ANZ General Manager of Finance, the Financial Controller will lead the finance function for the group for day-to-day accounting operations, month end close, and quarterly reporting. This role will also have a heavy focus on productivity, change management and team development while overseeing system and continuous process improvement projects.
Key Duties will include:
- Lead a large team of transactional, financial and management accountants across Australia and New Zealand.
- Ensure technical accounting standards and effective budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for the group.
- Manage the external audit and internal statutory reporting team.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, including coaching and development.
- Streamlining processes and systems to promote continuous improved controls, reporting and risk management.
- Work with technology teams to project manage system changes including automation, implementations and integrations.
About you:
We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about inspiring and motivating teams but is equally strong in financial control and with a drive for systems automation and processes improvement.
The ideal person will have over 5 + years’ experience commercial mindset and strong communication skills to influence and build rapport with a large team.
- 5+ years accounting experience in a large, shared services environment or first mover from chartered with experience leading a large team.
- Ideally CPA/CA qualified.
- Ability to manage large Onshore and Offshore teams.
- Strong financial accounting experience including excellent understanding of accounting standards and accounting principles.
- Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI advantageous.
- Experience in process/project implementation highly regarded.
