About the Role
Lead financial strategy and business advisory across a portfolio of growing SME businesses. This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for a finance professional who thrives on solving complex business challenges and delivering results in dynamic environments.
You will work directly with business owners and executive teams to provide actionable insights, guide decision-making, and structure the financial foundations that enable sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial function for a portfolio of SME clients, acting as their trusted Financial Controller/CFO.
- Deliver strategic guidance on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and performance analysis.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
- Provide funding and capital strategy support, including cash flow finance and loan structuring.
- Oversee monthly reporting, KPI dashboards, and management accounts.
- Collaborate with business owners on pricing, cost structures, and growth planning.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless client service and financial accuracy.
- Mentor finance staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives internally.
- CA/CPA qualified with at least 8+ years of experience in financial leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in a CFO, Financial Controller, or senior advisory position.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into strategic action.
- Experience working with SMEs, especially in growth or transformation phases.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel modelling.
