The Opportunity:
Working closely with the CFO, this is an exciting opportunity that will have significant impact on the broader organisation, supporting the business and leading a dynamic and established finance team.
As the Financial Controller, you will have responsibility for overseeing the financial control, statutory and management reporting, cashflow management and regulatory compliance.
The work environment is dynamic and ever-evolving due to the acquisition and growth focus, so the Financial Controller role will be pivotal in leading the finance team through changes to business structures and reporting - driving business process improvements and providing financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Management of a technically strong and talented Finance Team, providing controllership support to all lines of business.
- Responsible for leading the team in the monthly end process and reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting for the group liaising with various business units.
- Group cashflow management and reporting.
- Overseeing the delivery of Statutory Accounts, Audit and Tax compliance and reporting timeframes.
- Complex Accounting - AFSL Licensing requirements and compliance.
- Lead private equity and board reporting.
- Improve business analysis and insights and business partnering with internal stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and change management to the team in systems and process improvements including upgrades and integrations.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a technically strong, CA or CPA qualified accounting professional - a finance leader with a drive and passion to continue honing those leadership skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Key skills/experience required:
- Fully CPA/CA qualified, with 3-5 years or more post-qualification experience in a leadership role.
- Strong experience of technical accounting standards.
- A track-history of building teams and fostering a positive culture in an evolving environment.
- Natural problem-solving skills, motivated and willing to help find solutions.
- Strong skills set in change management and ability to multitask and pivot to new priorities when required.
- A natural leader who leads by example, can motivate and inspire others to perform.
