Business Development Partner – Travel Industry

Location: Sydney OR Melbourne

The Opportunity Are you a commercially driven Business Development professional with a passion for the travel industry and a love of the hunt?
We’re looking for a Business Development Partner to drive new B2B sales, build high-value relationships, and grow a national network of independent travel businesses. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on opening doors, shaping partnerships, and converting opportunity into long-term commercial value.
You’ll be backed by a strong brand, proven value proposition, and a supportive sales and marketing ecosystem — but success in this role comes down to your relationships, credibility and ability to close.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Drive new business acquisition across the independent travel agency landscape
  • Build and leverage strong networks across travel agencies, suppliers, industry bodies and partners
  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle — prospecting, pitching, negotiation, conversion and onboarding
  • Partner with marketing to support lead generation, events and local market activity
  • Use CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) to manage pipeline, opportunities and customer engagement
  • Understand customer needs and tailor solutions that maximise value, stick rate and profitability
  • Stay on top of market trends, competitor offerings and industry dynamics
  • Present a clear, compelling value proposition aligned to brand standards
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial outcomes while protecting margin
  • Support new partners through transition and early lifecycle to ensure long-term success
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven success in a Business Development or Sales role within the travel industry
  • Strong existing relationships with independent travel agencies
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Solid understanding of travel agency operations and the supplier landscape
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, commercially astute and comfortable working autonomously
What’s In It For You
  • A high-impact sales role with clear performance metrics and autonomy
  • Strong learning and development pathways to support career growth
  • Access to industry-leading travel benefits and discounts
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Supportive, inclusive culture with regular industry events and conferences
  • Wellbeing support, employee assistance programs and health benefits
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career within a global travel network
If you’re a relationship-led BDM who understands the travel industry and wants to be part of something with genuine scale and opportunity — we’d love to hear from you.
