We are partnering with a well-established commercial construction business seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer to join their Brisbane-based team in Greenbank. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Managers, site teams, and subcontractors to drive a proactive safety culture across multiple construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company standards.
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities and ensure effective risk controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Review and manage SWMS, risk assessments, permits, and site safety documentation.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate WHS records and reporting through HammerTech.
  • Support Project Managers in preparing and maintaining project risk registers.
  • Provide practical safety leadership and hands-on support to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of safety systems, processes, and workplace culture.
About You:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent (essential).
  • Previous experience in a construction-based safety role, within commercial construction projects (essential).
  • Strong understanding of Queensland WHS legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice (essential).
  • Experience using HammerTech or similar safety management systems (beneficial). 
  • White Card, First Aid, and CPR certification (essential).
