TalentLink is partnering with a leading Australian company to recruit for a newly created Assistant Accountant position.

This company, with a national footprint, has built its reputation on principles of providing quality services and maintaining a strong customer-centric focus. The Assistant Accountant role will be based at their national head office located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.


The Role: 
Working in high performing team (within a professional and supportive environment) this role will see you work closely with the Financial Controller and the wider finance team, while taking ownership for a number of financial functions.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals and allocations.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
  • Processing ad hoc manual invoicing requirements.
  • Assisting with the preparation of BAS and FBT returns.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register, including asset capitalisation and management of the Capital WIP account.
  • Preparing and reviewing payroll journals and investigating discrepancies.
  • Supporting audit requirements and compliance activities.
  • Assisting with financial reporting and other finance-related tasks as required.
About you:
You will be an experienced accounts all-rounder/ finance officer and looking to grow your career with a large national house-hold name.  A highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, shows initiative and is ready to hit the ground running. 
  
You will be:
  • Experienced Finance Officer currently studying your accounting degree or recently completed and getting started as an Assistant Accountant.
  • A great attitude and desire to work in a close team environment.
  • Excellent time management with a track record of dealing with competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate Excel.
